White Box/Charlie Mason

Long shot, but for the three of you still reading this blog... does anyone know what became of Charlie Mason, Seattle Hill Games, and White Box Fantastic Medieval Adventure Game?

No updates on his blog since last September, one of the blogs seems to have been domain-jacked, and it doesn't look like his 'zine made more than one issue.

Anyway, just curious. WBFMAG is super DIY, but I'd like to see more for it. I've still been doodling on my class overlays, but given that the chances of me finding someone local who wants to play something other than Pathfinder or 5E are now astronomically slim, I'm not going to be needing them immediately.

    1. I'm not sure if @mazon has him confused with someone else, but they list "other books by Charlie Mason" as being a bunch of diet cookbooks.

      PRETTY SUSPICION.

    1. G+: We're going away

Me: Meh, so what? What do I even use G+ for anyone?

      G+: *goes away*

      Me: wait no

I've been away for a while, so maybe you can help. What is the ratio of Pathfinder players to D&D player to D&D players to players of all other games? FREX: would you say that 30% of gamers play Pathfinder, 60% play D&D and the remaining 10% of gamers play other stuff? (I'm just making these figures up. You might have a better idea.)

    1. I can really only speak to the local landscape here in my town. I'd say that where I live, it's like 65% 5th Edition, 25% Pathfinder, 10% literally everything else together.

As for online, I think it's much less homogeneous. I just don't want an online group. I want to play around a big table the way nature intended.

Also welcome back. Your stuff is always goddamn refreshing.

  4. Not entirely sure where he went. I miss gplus for this very reason. Check the book, there maybe an email address in the back. I was saying tonight during a roll 20 game that if it wasn't for gplus and roll 20 the only dnd I'd be playing right now is fifth (ugh). I'm currently running a WB game (Charlie's) using isle of dread. Super fun.

  5. That's a good question, but considering how common it is for people to go months or longer without posting - while still leaving their blogs up, unlike the usual situation on Tumblr - I didn't pay too much attention. Here's hoping he's doing well.
